Who We Are And What We Do

WWII Modeller is an offshoot of www.militarymodels.co.nz, a website devoted to 1/35 WWII Armour modelling which I have been running for two years ( I also run www.WWIModeller.co.nz ). Over that time I’ve developed modelling interest outside armour, though still within the WWII area and rather than trying to change the orientation of MilitaryModels after so long I decided to set up a whole new site devoted to the entire spectrum of WWII Modelling.

After thinking on it for a while I realised I couldn’t run a site of this scope on my own if I used the same approach as I do for MilitaryModels so this site has been set up instead to be an information hub. I will be running news releases and categorising them so that they can be filtered for specific interest ( ie, Land, Air, Sea ) but I won’t be attempting to review every kit available, mainly as I build four to six a year at best and that’s barely enough to fill in the space on MilitaryModels.

So instead my goal is to eventually list all kits that are available and provide links where-ever possible to online reviews of those. I’ll also be putting together a “walkaround” and Reference database which will provide links to all the online walkarounds and any relevant reference material for specific vehicles, planes etc. Add to that links to good forums, sites devoted to a particular vehicle, aircraft, weapon etc and you get the idea.

The goal is to provide all the information in one place ( or at least as much as is possible ) to enable this to become a one-stop research hub. So from here you should be able to come in wanting to build a Tiger tank, find all the reviews on all the Tiger Tank kits available, all the walkarounds available, all the reference sites available, that sort of thing.

This is going to take me a long time, and by that I mean I expect to spend at least the first year just putting together what is already out there so that there-after it just has to be maintained and kept up to date.

For whatever reason you need I can be contacted at dean@militarymodels.co.nz until such time as I decide this place needs its own email address.
