I have to admit that I had heard of Rudel but I wasn’t really that familiar with his actual combat acheivements but that is really impressive. That sort of makes him the Michael Wittmann of the air. Pretty impressive for the much maligned Ju87.

This is from 2003 but I’ve only just come across this. The bit at the beginning gives all the background and then it’s just footage of the recovered wreck which is in amazingly good condition for half a century at the bottom of a lake.

Came across this while looking for something else and thought it was quite interesting. I’d be keen to see any follow up on this to see how successful the recovery of the wreckage is.
